MARKETING ON THE INTERNET - Learning To Manage Frustration
When marketing on the internet there is one
guarantee you can count on and that is there will be times, perhaps
even days and weeks you will want to pull your hair out.
When you chose to become an entrepreneur online you also probably
figured success would come overnight and without the trials and
tribulations. It is important to realize and remember however you are
building a business which takes time and is a process. There will be
mistakes made which is a normal and expected part of the process. It is
how you react to them that will determine how successful online you
become. You must learn to work through the difficult times so that you
will be able to enjoy your future successes.
Here are 3 highly effective ways to deal with the frustrating times you will encounter when building a business.
Look Elsewhere
When you are feeling frustrated sometimes it is simply wise to defused the situation by focusing your attention elsewhere. If what have you encountered appears to be something you can not quickly resolve and your are feeling increasingly stressed then step away! Situations like these can be toxic if you allow your anxieties to mount. It is recommended therefore to divert your attentions elsewhere so you can continue building a business in a productive manner.
Remember Your 'Whys'
Another effective tactic to use for 'sidestepping' lingering feelings of frustration and to stay productive is to recall why you wanted to become an entrepreneur in the first place. Remember what it is you are working for and the benefits you will enjoy when you finally do become successful online with your business. This should help brighten your mood and renew your vigor and motivation allowing you to blast through any obstacles that have presented themselves.
Know Thyself
Become familiar with the 'symptoms' you feel when discouragement begins to set in since this also signals the start of stress and anxieties.
You want to learn to quickly diffuse these feelings before they become
too disruptive in your efforts or more importantly, to your health!
Seek out something that brings you joy, makes you relax or allows you
to be productive in some way.
Marketing on the internet teaches you not only about what is involved in building a business but also quite a bit about yourself. Part of what you accept when you become an entrepreneur are the frustrating times you will inevitably encounter. This is a normal part of the building process and one that is necessary in order for you or your business to grow. How well you learn to manage these 'trying' times and work through them will ultimately determine how successful online you become. The 3 suggestions for dealing with your frustrations offered above should help you keep your focus when you are feeling challenged, disillusioned or discouraged. By always keeping your 'eyes on the prize' you will maintain the motivation and encouragement needed to keep you moving forward. It is all about progress, no matter how big or small, and this is what will make you successful online!

The 4 Biggest Mistakes Artist Make OnLine:
1, Sending People to a Website That's Not a Website
Promoters, bookers, venues and fans - they all know the difference between a free web page (MySpace, Facebook, Bandcamp, Tumblr) and a professional artist website (www.YOU.com
). Social media sites are super-important, but they are not your home base on the web. Get your own domain name and build a website where you have complete control. It's one of the first steps to becoming a professional musician.
2, Spamming Fans
You can scream "Buy my album!" from a rooftop all day long, but you'd have better luck politely knocking on doors with a piping-hot apple pie and a smile. Every time you approach someone online and say, "Buy my album" or "Check out my music," you are essentially spamming them. On the other hand, if you first build a relationship with your online followers by offering something of value (friendship, information, free stuff, apple pie) then you establish a relationship--a relationship that will lead to many selling opportunities down the line.
3, Not Staying Up-to-Date
The quickest way to get ignored online is to let your website gather dust. Nothing says, "My band broke up, or I don't care about self-promotion" like an out-of-date website. Make sure your last blog post wasn't in 2006. Make sure your gig calendar is up-to-date, and make sure your photo gallery is filled with recent pictures. This way your fans can get to know you and your music better.
4, Not Maintaining a Fan List
Your fans want to connect with you. They want the inside scoop. They want special offers and they want to feel a part of something. Give them a chance to sign up to your newsletter on your website. A Facebook post might only reach 2-5% of your Facebook fans, but an email newsletter will land in almost every email box you send it to. Email will always be the most personal way you can communicate with your fans.

Hello Blogger Family and Friends, I know it has been a while since I've posted a blog. I just want to let you all know that I am still on the grind and in Ministry. All is well with me. However some of you may know that I was recently in a car accident. The car was totaled, but thank God I am still alive. As I stand firmly in my faith, I trust God's word which says in Romans 8:28, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose". We might not understand why he do what He do at times, but I know that He has a purpose for me and I have yet to fulfill that purpose. I want to personally thank you for your prayers and your support through this time and season of my life. God blessings to you all.
Are You Promoting Your Music Enough?
Promotion, possibly a musician's worse enemy? I say this because it's the part most people get wrong, intentionally or not. I've seen people take time to record the perfect CD, pay to have an excellent cover done, get it into shops worldwide, then just sit down and wait for their CD to sell. But it hardly does. Why? BECAUSE THEY HARDLY PROMOTED IT!! You can't just expect people to walk into a record shop and buy your music, you have to let people know it's there and give them a good reason to buy it! Now I know you may not have yourself down as a sales person. And that's OK, most musicians don't. But I'll tell you now, without including some form of promotion in your campaigns, your music won't get very far. So how much promotion do you need to do for a successful release? Well, that would depend on the size and type of the project. One thing's for sure though, you should be promoting your release between 2 and 4 week prior to the release date. You start out mentioning it without too many details, then as the date gets closer give more details and making a bigger deal out of it. Creating anticipation is a great way to pre sell your music, and if done correctly will mean that a nice portion of your sells should come within the first week. Once you've released your CD, you should carry on promoting and spend all your time on it. Where possible you should be doing radio appearances, live shows, interviews, online promotion, flyering, and anything else you can fit in. Simply writing a one off post on a music forum won't get you the amount of sales you'll need to even cover the cost of making your music, so think bigger. Even a one off advert in a popular magazine often isn't enough, people react better to buying when they've seen your promotion in a few places and are more curious about your product. That means for the next month or more after your release you need to be EVERYWHERE your customers turn! Please don't make the mistake of under promoting your music, if you're going to put the effort in to recording and releasing your music, the least you could do is let it reach it's full potential. To your success.

ERICA CAMPBELL OF MARY MARY DEBUTS SOLO SONG “A LITTLE MORE JESUS”
Erica Campbell, one half
of the phenomenal Grammy winning duo Mary Mary, stepped out in New York this
Sunday to perform the first single “A Little More Jesus” off her forthcoming
solo CD.
Performing before a packed house at Manhattan’s Village Underground, Campbell had the crowd on their feet with an upbeat tune that took people back to that classic and old-school church sound. Her energy, styling and vocals left everyone wanting more. “A Little More Jesus” hits radio this week and is sure to be an instant hit.
Campbell will work with husband, producer Warryn Campbell on the project which is slated to be released later this year on My Block Records / eOne Music.

Get Your Music Marketing Tips
Marketing is all of the activities and processes of planning, communicating and executing a product, with a price, the promotion and the placement of an item to an end user. Your music is the product you are supplying to the end user – the music fan. Between you and the fan is a big gap and you need to find out how to bridge this gap. You may think that if you just get a record deal with some label, your prayers are answered and instantly a bridge is built across that gap. This is for the most part, not how things work today. As an aspiring indie or unsigned singer, songwriter, or a musician in a band you can not do just a few things to promote yourself and expect success in your music career. Offline and online music promotion and marketing exposure is an ongoing process in today’s DIY age. Music companies today are looking for artists that already have fan bases, sold CDs that have proven themselves ready to move up to a higher level. Presented in this report are tips and ideas for you to think about and tweak as you need, to get noticed, gain fans, and get heard. You have to find a way to stand above the crowd, because talent alone is not enough.

Who Is David E. Maxwell?
My name is
David E. Maxwell and I am an Independent Christian Musician, Producer and
Composer who became interested in music at the early age of five. I play by ear
and I’m basically self taught and can play several different instruments. As a
young adult I joined several top forty bands that traveled and played on the
local circuit. April of 1990 was an important turning point in my life.
Returning to my church roots, I began again, to rebuild my foundation and faith
in God. As the years went by I was blessed to have been the praise and worship
leader for several churches. In 2011, I released my debut CD called, “The Praise Up Project”, and I’m now currently working on releasing my second CD in
2012. Being an Independent Artist has many challenges. This is what prompted me
to create “Christian Musician Connection” on facebook. Where I provide a
platform for Christian Musicians, Worship Leaders, Gospel Singers, Recording
Artist, Music Producer/Promoter, Radio Personalities and Venues to Post and
promote their Music, Blogs, Videos and Connect with Other Artists, to exchange
valuable music industry information, share ideas and much more. One of my
visions is to create a Record Label not only as a business but as a ministry as
well. My goal is to help other independent artists reach their goals in the
music industry. You will always hear me say, “God’s gift to us is life, and what we do with our life, is our gift back to Him.”
